CANADA, FOR THE FIRST TIME TOOK PART IN A WAR OVERSEAS. TWO HUNDRED AND EIGHTY-THREE
VOLUNTEERS WHO HAD NAVIGATION SKILLS SERVED WITH A MARK OF HONOUR IN THE NILE EXPEDITION
AND SIXTEEN GAVE THEIR LIVES. THERE IS ONLY ONE KNOWN VETERAN FROM THE NORTH BAY
AREA AND HIS NAME IS LISTED HERE.
